« Hitchcock a développé une histoire de voyeurisme sur fond de psychanalyse se terminant en véritable suspense. Ce singulier cheminement est parfaitement rendu par la prouesse technique de reconstitution en studio d’un immense décor représentant l’immeuble où se déroule l’action. » (Guide des Films, Éd. Laffont) .

« Simply put, Rear Window is perhaps one of the finest ever committed to celluloid. All of the elements are perfect (or nearly so), including the acting, script, camerawork, music (by Franz Waxman), and, of course, direction. The brilliance of the movie is that, in addition to keeping viewers on the edges of their seats, it involves us in the lives of all of the characters, from Jefferies and Lisa to Miss Torso. There isn't a moment of waste in 113 minutes of screen time. » (ReelViews)

« Rear Window is magnificent for a multitude of reasons. It has withstood the test of time, and no facet has lost an ounce of effectiveness. As a primer into Hitchcock’s vast, varied, and essential oeuvre, it is the perfect starting point. » (MovieFreak.com)
