Conférence : Les femmes gardiennes de la mémoire
This conference is part of a series dedicated to the transmission and recognition of the memory of the victims of Francoism. It accompanies the exhibition created by artist Eva Máñez, whose work questions the traces left by repression and the forms of silence that marked this period of history.
The meeting also brings together two witnesses, Amparo Belmonte, President of the Platform of Families of Victims of the Paterna Pit, and Victoria Reig, Vice-President of the Association of Victims of the Gandia Pit, who have been involved for many years in preserving and disseminating testimonies related to the violence suffered under the Franco regime. Their contributions aim to shed light on their lived experiences, as well as on the processes of intergenerational transmission that today help to keep this memory alive.
The event thus offers a dialogue between artistic creation and memoirs, in order to promote a more accurate understanding of historical realities and to highlight the importance of remembrance in the contemporary dynamics of justice and reparation. Through this approach, it aims to provide a space for reflection open to all, dedicated to listening, sharing and putting this still sensitive past into perspective.
