Women's Event: Pushing the Summit: Women Who Go Beyond (film & debate)
Join us for a special evening dedicated to women’s achievements and challenges in sports and beyond.
The programme includes the screening of The Last Expedition by acclaimed Polish director and mountaineer Eliza Kubarska, followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker and a debate on the role of women in sports (especially mountaineering).
The Last Expedition is a powerful documentary retracing the story of Wanda Rutkiewicz, the legendary Polish alpinist and one of the greatest female climbers of all time. Through a captivating blend of archival footage and personal testimonies, the film not only honours Rutkiewicz’s remarkable legacy but also reflects on perseverance, ambition, and the personal cost of following one’s passion.
After the screening, the discussion will continue with a debate on Women in Sports, addressing questions of visibility, representation, and equality in disciplines traditionally dominated by men. The director and an expert will share their insights, making this event both inspiring and thought-provoking.
