Les Histrioniques

There are five on stage: writers, actresses, directors, activists. They form a contemporary, intrepid, funny, and fierce chorus: the #MeTooThéâtre collective. With Les Histrioniques, they create a free and festive theatrical space. Everything is play, rhythm, struggle, and furious joy. The grotesque becomes a weapon, costumes a manifesto. There is laughter. There is shouting. There is reflection. On stage, they re-enact an investigation, somewhere between fiction and reality, conducted on their Messenger group, to support an actress who is a victim of rape. From this digital thread spring voices, scenes, and re-enactment's — so many moments of tension where words search for meaning, break free, and falter. Born in 2021 in the wake of the #MeToo movement, the #MeTooThéâtre collective brings together artists mobilized against sexist and sexual violence in the performing arts. A theatre of combat, sisterhood, and explosive force. An irreverent celebration that dismantles systems, tears down masks… and exposes monsters. The play's script is published by Libertalia.
