OPENING CONCERT with SHANTEL & BUCOVINA CLUB SOUNDSYSTEM

The stars of Balkan fusion, Shantel & Bucovina Club Soundsystem, kick off the festival with a burst of positive energy!

The Opening concert of the 2026 edition of the CinEast film festival will be a treat for festival-goers, featuring a very special performance by the renowned stars of Balkan fusion Shantel & Bucovina Club Soundsystem, followed by an eclectic DJ set by Shantel himself.

German DJ and producer Stefan Hantel, aka Shantel & his Bucovina Club Orkestar, have been conquering festivals and clubs all around the world for over two decades. Having played at Roskilde (five times!), Sziget, Glastonbury, Womad (headliners in Reading, Adelaide, St. Petersburg etc.), Rock Am Ring, Lowlands and plenty more, and having collaborated with Fanfara Ciocarlia, Goran Bregovic, Mahala Rai Banda & dozens other musicians, the band has established itself as one of the leading acts blending Eastern European sounds and club music. Their catchy, energetic party blend will fire up the dance floor in Melusina Club, and open the CinEast festival in style!

The night will kick off with the Somethingski Trio., formed by members of the Freeborn Brothers band. Hailing from Poland, this group seamlessly fuses folk, rock, and vibrant rhythms reminiscent of 1970s Polish pop. Their lively range of songs infused with humour, combined with more reflective compositions, are sure to make for an excellent live experience before the main act of the evening!

As always, a variety of traditional Eastern European hot and cold dishes as well as snacks will be available to keep hungry festival-goers happy!
