United to Grow

This panel discussion will explore how deeper European integration can strengthen both the European and Luxembourgish economies. The discussion will begin by examining how Europe lost economic momentum towards the end of the twentieth century, before addressing key challenges such as high energy prices, weak productivity growth and the absence of a fully developed European technology ecosystem. It will then consider how stronger EU integration and institutional reforms could help Europe restore its competitiveness, deepen the Single Market and promote innovation and investment.

Luxembourg’s Minister of the Economy, Lex Delles; Skerdi Zanaj, Professor of Economics at the University of Luxembourg; and Merete Clausen, Deputy Chief Executive of the European Investment Fund, have confirmed their participation. Members of the European Parliament will also be invited to contribute a short two-minute video explaining what they consider most important for Europe’s economic future and further integration.
