House Dance with Tony McGregor

KnowEdge is launching a new series dedicated to House Dance with the ambition of introducing the Luxembourg public to the technical foundations and history of this culture through the visits of renowned international dancers.

Kicking off this series is a true legend of the scene: Tony McGregor. More than just a legend, Tony is one of the pioneers of House Dance and seeing him to Luxembourg is a rare opportunity not to be missed.

A member of Dance Fusion New York for over 35 years, Tony McGregor has actively contributed to the internationalisation of House Dance, both as a movement technique and as a form of community expression that originated in the New York and New Jersey scenes.

A renowned judge at international dance battles such as Juste Debout and Summer Dance Forever, he continues to travel the world (North and South America, Asia, Africa, and now Europe) to share his art and its history.

In the early 1990s, Tony danced in music videos for L.L. Cool J, Whitney Houston, and the Fugees. He recently taught at Princeton University and currently teaches at the Peridance Center, one of New York’s leading dance studios.

The workshop will be followed by a jam session open to everyone.
