Treat me Like Your Mother (LUXFILMFEST)
A photodocumentary that gives voice to four Lebanese trans women, Treat Me Like Your Mother chronicles their journey, from the first state-supported gender affirmation surgery in 1997, to the disappearance of safe spaces to live. Combining personal archives, home videos, and the voices of the protagonists, the film explores the little-known history of the trans community in Beirut. Directorial debut of photographer Mohamad Abdouni, recipient of the Lafayette Anticipations award, this documentary shines a light on voices that are often invisible, offering a collective portrait of solidarity within the trans community in Beirut.
