Julio moves to Manila to search for his missing girlfriend. Immersed in the city’s harsh realities, he confronts exploitation, corruption, and urban poverty while navigating the underworld. His relentless quest becomes both a personal and social journey, exposing the brutal inequalities of urban life.

« One of Philippine cinema’s most searing portraits of urban decay under authoritarian rule. Released three years after martial law was declared, this neo-noir confronts audiences with images that the dictatorship sought to suppress. Rural migrants enter Manila but cannot leave, becoming absorbed into the city’s machinery of exploitation. Like the steady glow of neon lights in Manila’s darkest corners, the film holds an unblinking focus on lives that no regime can eliminate, reminding viewers that cinema, too, remembers what power seeks to erase. » (Senses of Cinema)
