Conduits Expo Vernissage

From 7 November to 5 January, the Rainbow Center Luxembourg presents Conduits, an exhibition featuring Maryam Samaan and Ernesto Testi.

Conduits captures Maryam Samaan and Ernesto Testi’s attempt to thread their memories into the very gaze of the viewer. Their artistic approaches seek to guide the spectator across the fluid boundary between self and other, past and present. Each sees themselves as a conduit of memory and identity, shaping lived experience into tangible form.

Maryam Samaan, a Syrian-Palestinian multidisciplinary artist, scenographer, and puppet creator, places memory and intimate archives at the heart of her artistic practice...

From 2016 to 2019, she led art therapy workshops in refugee camps in Lebanon, notably in Chatila, where she created The Other I (2018).

Her works explore the memory of places, exile, and the enduring human connections at the heart of conflict — particularly in the Middle East, which she portrays with both sensitivity and universality.

Ernesto Testi, a Cuban-born illustrator and graphic artist, draws inspiration from ancient civilizations and Latin American mythologies to explore collective memory, spirituality, and queer struggle.

His work weaves links between past and present, questioning resilience, freedom, and the many ways of existing in the world.
