Working On The Imaginary Object
Natalie Brück is a performance artist working at the intersection of language, text, and movement. Her practice focuses on processes that emerge between people rather than on fixed objects or outcomes. Through performance, language, and spatial structures, she creates situations that make perception, attention, and collective action tangible. Her work has been presented in Germany and internationally.
Following the presentation of Working On The Imaginary Object. at Bangkok Kunsthalle in 2024, the series continues at Casino Luxembourg. Created in collaboration with a group of performers, the work unfolds through the formation of shared spaces of action. Through their gestures, the performers appear to be working with something invisible. Invisible objects become perceptible through movement, while collective action becomes essential. Structures emerge through shared activity and are continuously reshaped throughout the process. At the same time, each performer brings their own idea of the object, their own questions, and their own interpretations into the process.
At Casino Luxembourg, the performance is developed during a one-week intensive workshop. The workshop is led jointly by Natalie Brück and Saskia Bommer. During the performance, sound artist and composer Stefan Zintel creates a live soundscape that permeates the space and intensifies the suspended, at times unsettling, atmosphere of the situation. Sound and movement continuously respond to one another, shaping the course of the performance.
