Description
In a time often marked by agitation and stress, green spaces are becoming an important part of people’s lives. City dwellers often long for time out, for relaxation, for experiences close to nature. Modern urban and spatial planning takes these needs into account in order to improve the quality of life of residents, promote sustainable development and meet the challenges of climate change.
In Luxembourg City, nature has long been part of the cityscape. There are green spaces throughout the city that are used and enjoyed by residents.
Flowers often occupy a special place in our lives and floral decorations are omnipresent in our everyday lives. One could almost forget that these flowers and plants have been taken out of their natural context to be arranged and staged by man.
In this exhibition, the photographers take us, through their personal view, into a world of reverie and poetry that can touch us at the deepest level. At the same time, the photographs bear witness to the cohabitation between man and nature, to the joie de vivre that green islands offer people, but also to the illusion that nature can be controlled at any time. The interaction between man and nature, as this exhibition shows, is always dynamic and subject to constant change and development.
