This summer, “Les Rendez-vous de l’UNESCO” a series of conferences, presents the UNESCO programmes that encourage us to make peace with nature."The Mëllerdall UNESCO Global Geopark – Insights into a fascinating landscape"Speakers: Dr Claude Petit, Direktor des Mëllerdall UNESCO Global Geopark and Birgit Kausch, Responsible for the areas of geology and "Naturparkschoul"Since 2022, the Mëllerdall region has been one of 229 regions worldwide recognised by UNESCO as a Global Geopark. The geological history of the Mëllerdall is visible in the rocky landscape of Luxembourg sandstone, in the wide plains and in the valleys carved deep into the geological layers. The stone forms the basis of today's landscape with its diverse natural and cultural features, which have been shaped by human use over thousands of years.
