The Bats
New Zealand’s indie psych-pop band The Bats have been active with the same line-up since New Year's Eve 1982. One of New Zealand’s most enduring bands, they have built a global cult following through four decades of bittersweet jangle-pop and gently affecting songwriting.
Their latest album (number 11!), Corner Coming Up, offers a quietly confident set of songs, steeped in the band’s signature blend of warmth, wistfulness and fuzzed-out grace. It’s a familiar yet vital record from a group that continues to evolve without ever losing their footing.
