Jon Meehan’s Rockin’ Roots & Swingin’ Blues Band
Jon Meehan is an Irish-born singer-songwriter based in Luxembourg, known for his retro-inspired songs that blend humour and insightful themes across bluesy, jazzy, and folk styles. His music, rooted in folk, rock 'n' roll, and blues, features intricate guitar work, original lyrics, and dynamic rhythms. Starting his guitar journey at age 12 in Ireland, Jon was influenced by artists like Bob Dylan and Buddy Holly. His passion grew through live performances in Dublin, witnessing renowned musicians such as B.B. King and Rory Gallagher. After relocating to London, he studied jazz vocals and guitar, honing his skills in the busking scene and various music venues. He has also performed in Paris, Aix-en-Provence, and Marseille. Currently residing in Luxembourg, Jon has recently recorded an EP with three original songs, collaborating with local musicians. His songwriting reflects personal experiences, combining observational insights with humour. He focuses on storytelling in his lyrics, informed by his background in literature and teaching, ensuring each piece resonates with carefully crafted words and arrangements.
