«I feel I must fight for my music.». So said Dame Ethel Smyth, trailblazer and champion of women’s rights. Her contemporary, composer Joseph Holbrooke, demonstrated a similar fighting spirit as he climbed his way to success from humble beginnings. Both figures were influential in shaping the sound of English music in the 20th century. For a chance to hear some of the members of the Luxembourg Philharmonic in a more intimate setting, join d’Frënn vun de Lëtzebuerger Philharmoniker for a concert, a cosy chat and a cheeky glass of bubbly to boot! .
