Cycle de conférences : Chercheurs luxembourgeois à l’étranger
15.10.2026 – Kurzer Overshoot, lange Folgen?
22.10.2026 – A Synthetic Odyssey through Concepts of Organometallic Molecular Activation
Alexandre Vasseur (Université Lorraine) will expose the role of heterobimetallic species, in which two metal centers cooperate in concert to modulate reactivity and selectivity will be explained. This approach provides access to regio-, chemo-, stereo-, and even divergent behaviors that remain unattainable with classical monometallic species. In this context, particular emphasis is placed on one-pot strategies for building multiple carboncarbon bonds.
29.10.2026 – Handling Uncertainty for Better-Informed Decision-Making
The talk by Christian Wagner (University of Nottingham) will focus on modelling and handling of uncertain data arising from heterogeneous data sources including domain experts and other stakeholders, with a particular emphasis on designing interpretable and interactive AI based decision support systems.
05.11.2026 – Using Viral Pseudotypes for Pandemic Preparedness
The talk by Nigel Temperton (University of Kent) will focus on emerging/re-emerging and transboundary viruses and the methods for their control, in particular by vaccination induced antibody responses and small molecule and mAb therapeutics. For this purpose, a new approach using harmless “pseudotype” virus mimics for many high-containment viruses (influenza, coronavirus, rabies, ebola) using repurposed retroviral and lentiviral vector technologies will be presented.
