XIIIᵉ siècle. L’Afrique de l’Ouest rayonne sous l’empire du Manden. Bien avant Christophe Colomb, l’empereur Abu Bakr II met cap sur l’inconnu avec 2 000 navires. Il disparaît dans l’immensité de l’Atlantique.
Entre légende et vérité, ce film dévoile l’épopée d’un souverain visionnaire et redonne à la civilisation du Manden la place qui lui revient.
La projection sera suivie d’un panel de discussion en présence du réalisateur.
