Mermaid – The Inbetween is a reinterpretation of Andersen's The Little Mermaid, a story written as part of the United Nations Women's project to enhance the value of female characters in traditional fairy tales.
The story is accompanied by a workshop in which children are invited to paint fish in recycled paper, using watercolours mixed with water from the Alzette, to celebrate the legend of Luxembourg’s Melusina. Once painted, the mobiles will become kites, like the Japanese Koïnoibori. This unique moment in the beautiful Alzette Valley invites children to marvel at the charm of nature.
