Multiplica Lab – SPIME.IM Artist Talk
Grey Line is an intensive and thought-provoking performance that tackles current topics like war, climate change and the impact of humankind on the earth with raw sincerity. This discussion will lead us through the artistic vision of a collective that tries to make sense of the complex world we’re living in.
The speakers
- SPIME.IM is a media art collective that investigates the aesthetics and languages derived from the affirmation of digital reality. The themes they explore mainly revolve around the boundaries of identity, corporeality, and the perception of the human being in the absurd times mankind is facing.
They have presented their work at international digital art festivals such as Mutek (Canada, Japan, and Spain), Ars Electronica, Club to Club, Lunchmeat, Stereolux, and L.E.V. Additionally, they presented their latest multimedia production, The End Of The World, at the Barbican Centre in London with internationally renowned pianist and composer Lubomyr Melnyk, cellist Julia Kent, the vocal group Shards, and soprano Elina Netšajeva. - Françoise Poos is Artistic and Scientific Director of Elektron. She holds a PhD in Visual Culture and served as Programming Director for Esch2022, European Capital of Culture. She currently chairs the board of directors of Centre culturel de rencontre Abbaye de Neumünster, dedicated to intercultural dialogue and artistic diversity, as well as the Edward Steichen Award Luxembourg, a contemporary art prize that she has actively helped shaping since 2005.
- Vincent Crapon is Curator of Elektron. He served as Head of the digital arts exhibition programme for Esch2022, European Capital of Culture. He has worked as curator and assistant curator at MUDAM Luxembourg and the Musée d'art contemporain de Lyon, and has collaborated with institutions including Casino Luxembourg, ZKM Karlsruhe, HEK Basel, Ars Electronica, Museum Brandhorst and the Musée des arts et des métiers.
