Books & Beats Kickoff – Day 1

Frequency Friday with MONOMONO / IIIOIIOIIIOIIO and guests

Discover what Books & Beats is all about!

The Books and Beats Kickoff is a 2-day creative showcase inviting visitors to explore the intersection of storytelling, sound, and collaborative artistic practice. Throughout the two days, guests can discover live electronic music, join free workshops, discover new tools for expression, and experience the unique blend of literature and electronic music that defines Books and Beats.

The kickoff begins on Friday, 16 October at 18:00 with an informal apéro gathering, giving participants, artists and curious newcomers a chance to meet, connect and discover the Books & Beats community in a relaxed atmosphere accompanied by music from DJ Heincha. The evening continues with a first edition of the concert series Frequency Friday / Saturday, presented in collaboration with Rotondes.

The programme features women only artists:

• MONOMONO / IIIOIIOIIIOIIO, a Belgian electro-acoustic act known for blending experimental music, alternative pop, techno influences and immersive electronic soundscapes ;
• Faxe Kolle, the Luxembourg-based / San Francisco-bred plays a live hardware set from a slightly misremembered 1993. Her trademark sounds are crunchy synth textures, warped melodies with a nod to the early digital sounds of music imagining the future.

. More than a concert, the evening is an invitation to discover the spirit of Books & Beats and meet the community behind the project. And don't miss Day 2 of the kickoff!
