Then, with the way made clear, Robert Schumann’s Spring Symphony .bursts in like the first warm day of the year, filled with energy and hope. Led by Joshua Bell, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields brings a programme that defies the January gloom. A perfect escape from winter’s grip, if only for a night.
