François Mechali Trio
Guitar–double bass–drums, double bass–guitar–drums, drums–double bass–guitar: these are the shifting perspectives of this trio, where the traditional roles of soloist and accompanist are constantly challenged and freely interchangeable. Their musical range is wide. A demanding written framework calls for carefully crafted improvisation, in which interaction is continuous, responsive, and never predetermined. Everything is in motion: momentum, counterpoint, listening, risk. Out of this respectful yet daring freedom emerges a virtuosic program of rich sonic palettes; three voices in vivid conversation, incisive, alive, and perpetually evolving.
