"Electric Stories" Sebastian Gahler feat. Andy Hunter
Sebastian Gahler Electric Project – "Electric Stories" Album Release Tour
Düsseldorf pianist Sebastian Gahler, whose Murakami-inspired album Two Moons passed 10 million streams, goes electric. On Electric Stories he swaps the grand piano for a fortress of vintage keyboards: Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Hammond B-3, Moog and Hohner String Performer. The result is groove-driven, high-energy jazz rooted in the funk and fusion of the 1970s and in the spirit of Herbie Hancock's Head Hunters. A special highlight is the renowned New York trombonist Andy Hunter., who joins as featured artist. Hunter has toured the world with Snarky Puppy, Richard Bona and the Mingus Big Band, and he is now a permanent member of the WDR Big Band in Cologne. The program runs from smooth cruising grooves, where trombone and Moog share the melody in unison, to a tribute to Brad Mehldau and a fresh take on Stevie Wonder's "Creepin'."
