CeCiL's Box by Safouane Ben Slama
Location : Cercle Cité, CeCiL's Box showcase (rue du Curé, Luxembourg)
With the CeCiL's Box, the Cercle Cité supports local creation by presenting and promoting the work of emerging and young artists from the Greater Region in one of its shop windows in the Rue du Curé. This mini exhibition space, visible 7 days a week, day and night, offers a street-side location in the heart of the city to a series of original and ephemeral interventions from the plastic and applied arts, with the aim of arousing the curiosity of passers-by and questioning the collective imagination.
The 41st intervention is entrusted to the artist Safouane Ben Slama. and is entitled A Puzzle of Words and Thoughts.
This installation is conceived as a perpetual movement, an evolving puzzle gradually completed over time through images created on a daily basis between 2012 and today (2026), in which words and thoughts slowly come together.
The display will exist somewhere between Aby Warburg’s Mnemosyne Atlas—an important corpus of images in which the German art historian not only establishes historical connections, but also formal correspondences between different civilizations—and a teenager’s bedroom, revealing fragments of intimacy and certain obsessions. The links between the images and humanity are, in turn, suggested, proposed, sometimes asserted, sometimes whispered.
The installation will evolve week after week throughout the exhibition period. Through their superimposition, the images will open up new visions rooted in tangible realities.
