For almost two decades, sound activist Toben Piel aka Das Kinn has been emitting knocking signs and signal sounds from the catacombs around the bank towers of Frankfurt. With his first full-length album Ruinenkampf (released last May via Hamburg-based label Bureau B), Das Kinn embarks on a musical tour de force through the ruins of our time.
An electronic armada and kickbox-phonetics lead us through haunting soundscapes somewhere between DAF, Kosmische Kuriere and Frankfurt Bahnhofsviertel. Hymns for demolition. Sonic meditations on decay. Music for solemn decline. Beats on full blast.
