Regular guided tour: The other side of Wil Lofy
Around 1998, he acquired the islands of Toro and Mutri, which served both as a refuge and a source of inspiration. Through his experience of the space, silence and elemental nature of Patagonia, Lofy gradually moved away from narrative figures and developed a concentrated, pared-down pictorial language. His watercolours, more than 80 of which are on display, emerged from a direct engagement with the place. Alongside these, he created sculptures from driftwood, whose forms emerge directly from the material, retaining traces of water, wind and time.
