PIANO RECITAL BY MICHAEL KORSTICK
Michael Korstick, born in Cologne in 1955, is one of the leading German pianists of his generation. Following successes in international competitions, he performs worldwide with a repertoire of more than 140 piano concertos as well as solo programs spanning all musical eras. He has worked with over 100 renowned orchestras and has appeared in major concert halls and music centers. He received his musical training in Hanover, Moscow, and at the Juilliard School in New York.
In addition to his concert career, he has gained international recognition through more than 60 highly acclaimed CD recordings, most recently in 2022 with the ICMA Special Achievement Award. A particular focus of his work is his extensive engagement with Beethoven’s piano oeuvre, whose sonatas and concertos he has performed and recorded in complete cycles.
