Literary Baddies Book Club
Come join the Literary Baddies Book Club for a discussion of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, the novel that invented science fiction and has never stopped asking who the real monster is.
Written in 1818 by a nineteen-year-old, Shelley’s story follows a scientist who builds a living creature and immediately abandons it, and the devastation that follows for both of them. Through the lens of evil and moral complexity, we’ll be asking whether creation without responsibility is its own form of violence, and what it means to bring something into the world and refuse to claim it.
Anyone is welcome to join, even if you haven’t finished the book. We look forward to welcoming you!
