Le 19ème siècle, âge d’or de la guitare romantique, a connu un grand nombre de guitaristes virtuoses et de compositeurs pour cet instrument qui est le plus proche ancêtre de la guitare moderne. Quelques très belles pages du riche répertoire pour duo ou trio de guitares romantiques serons interprétées pour ce concert, ainsi que plusieurs œuvres originales pour mandoline et guitare, notamment du célèbre violoniste et compositeur Niccolò Paganini qui, on l’oublie trop souvent, était également un excellent guitariste.

Mauro Giuliani (1781-1829) : Polonaise concertante pour deux guitares

Ferdinando Carulli (1770-1841) : Sérénade pour deux guitares

Johan Kaspar Mertz (1806-1856) : Tarentelle pour deux guitares

Bartolomeo Bortolazzi (1772-1820) : Thème et variations pour mandoline et guitare

Ferdinando Carulli (1770-1841) : Duetto pour mandoline et guitare

Niccolò Paganini (1782-1840) : Duo pour mandoline et guitare “Duetto amoroso”

Anton Diabelli (1781-1858) : Trio op. 62 pour trois guitares

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) : Sonatine en Do Majeur pour deux guitares et mandoline
