Chiaroscuro Quartet

«A stimulating conversation between four intelligent people» is how Johann Wolfgang von Goethe aptly described the notion of the string quartet. Joseph Haydn, unhappy in his marriage, wrote the Sun Quartets. as he was living in relative isolation at the summer palace of Prince Nikolaus Esterházy. Upon composing the String Quintet in C major,. Franz Schubert was in the final months of life, yet his optimism shines through. The Chiaroscuro Quartet’s authentic sound on historical instruments will certainly bring you light and warmth on this winter’s night!
