Almost Nothing
Organised by the Embassy of Italy in Luxembourg and LUCA, in collaboration with the Camera di Commercio Italo-Lussemburghese, this event is part of the Italian Design Day – an annual initiative celebrating Italian creativity and innovation. The 2026 edition, titled “Redesign – Regenerating spaces, objects, relationships, ideas”, highlights how thoughtful design can enhance everyday life and reduce social inequalities.
In this context, the following lecture contributes to a broader reflection on how architecture and design can respond to contemporary social challenges through careful and responsible practice.
Titled Almost Nothing, the lecture presents the studio’s approach to architecture as a process that goes far beyond the construction of new buildings. Starting from what already exists, the practice develops design approaches that explore its potential and favour reuse over new construction. Through selected projects and reflections, the presentation illustrates how existing spaces, structures, and contexts can be reinterpreted and reactivated – gaining new relevance while preserving their history and identity.
