Ro Gebhardt & Friends
Alec & Ro Gebhardt "TimeTravellers" present an exciting fusion of musical styles spanning four decades. Ro Gebhardt, an outstanding guitarist, composer, and arranger, has made a name for himself in the German music scene and represents German expertise in international performances, including at the renowned Blue Note jazz club in New York City. Alongside him is his 17-year-old son Alec Gebhardt, a talented bassist and cultural award winner who is currently studying as a junior student at the HFM Saarland. Completing the trio as a special guest is French drummer Jean-Marc Robin, who is considered one of the best drummers in France and is known for his collaborations with renowned artists such as Gypsy jazz guitarist Birelli Lagrene. The band delights audiences with a dynamic mix of jazz, pop, blues, Latin, and classical influences, enriched by impressive improvisations and a strong sense of playfulness. In addition to interpreting well-known pieces from various eras, they also present their own compositions, which have been produced for broadcasting stations such as SR, BR, and Deutschlandfunk. Recently, the ensemble received two first prizes from the Deutsche Pop-Stiftung: for Best Jazz Rock Song with "Joyous Jaguar" and Best R&B Song with "Could It Be (Ode to the Earth)." Both titles are from their current CD "Blue Music For A Blue Planet." The "TimeTravellers" offer an unforgettable musical experience that harmoniously blends both classical and modern elements.
