Vilnius, 2022. Marija, a successful professional, tells her husband, Vytas, that she wants a divorce at the worst possible moment: on the eve of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. As uncertainty and fear grip the country, their already fragile relationship collapses under the weight of unspoken tensions and long-held resentments. Caught between love, frustration, and moral responsibility, their intimate story becomes a mirror of a world in crisis, where private choices are inseparable from political and human upheaval. Filmed largely in Vilnius’s old town, this striking drama weaves together the upheavals of a Europe in crisis and the intimate collapse of a couple, anchored by a distinctive visual identity.
