Art Talk – CAT - Collecting artist things : The drive to create and the desire to collect
Location: Art Talks Area, Luxembourg Art Week
Language: English
Guest speakers:
Nora Cristea, designer and curator
Vincent Schneider, designer and curator
The art market can sometimes appear opaque, or even hermetic. Built on speculation and risk, it exposes both gallerists and artists to strong financial pressure. While some renowned artists achieve high ratings on the art market, emerging artists often face precarious career paths and limited incomes.
Today, new approaches are emerging that help sustain artistic practice and facilitate the circulation of artworks at lower costs — for instance, through the production of art editions and the development of online platforms. These are some of the dynamics reflected in the exhibition €AT., currently on view at Casino Luxembourguntil 15 February 2026.
During this talk, the exhibition curators Nora Cristea and Vincent Schneider will talk about the contemporary challenges around the visibility and dissemination of art, placing the artist at the centre of the conversation. Their curatorial approach consists in supporting artists through studio visits, mentoring, portfolios, publications, and curatorial projects.
.Access to the talk is reserved for visitors with an entry fair ticket.
