Nine-year-old Lucie goes to Bectoile for the holidays. This place, where her mother grew up, holds a family secret that she will hasten to uncover. With the help of Yan, her new friend, and of a mischievous couple of songbirds, Lucie will explore the ruins of a castle, a caravan parked near a forest, and make some surprising discoveries along the way. Presented in the Official Selection at the last Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Antoine Laciaux’s eagerly awaited new film is a gem of charm and humor, enhanced by its beautiful paper cutout animation. Based on his own life story, the director delivers a moving yarn about family ties that shape our lives.
