Fondation Cavour is pleased to invite you to a meeting dedicated to three great Italian women writers who transformed the South into a symbolic place: Anna Maria Ortese, Grazia Deledda and Elsa Morante.

Their words, born in the 20th century, still speak to us today with surprising clarity.

Naples, Sardinia and Procida become stages where issues more relevant than ever are revealed: the sense of belonging, cultural roots, the female condition, the relationship with poverty and hope, the dreams of those seeking a possible future. They remind us that every periphery, geographical or social, is a laboratory of humanity that concerns us all.

Guided by Professors Sara Lorenzetti and Daria De Donno., we will rediscover three novels whose strength lies in the simplicity of a language capable of touching us deeply and inspiring reflection: they reveal human fragility and nobility, the power of family ties, the courage to grow, and the magic of the places that accompany and shape us.

Why read or listen to these stories today? Because they offer us a key to understanding the present, to discerning what escapes our sight, and to rediscover, through literature, a true and intimate space for inner dialogue.

To accompany us on this journey, Professor Claudio Cicotti will read selected passages from the works of the three authors.
