If you are travelling by car, the Glacis car park is be a good starting point for your visit. The first place is just a short walk away from the Glacis car park.
The “Wanterpark” at Kinnekswiss consists of wooden chalets, music, food and drink stalls: a beautiful Christmas village awaits visitors in the city park. The large trees surrounding the Wanterpark make this market a truly magical place. As the market is completely covered, you can enjoy your food and drink in peace, regardless of the weather. Every Sunday there are fun activities for children, details of which can be found at the end of this article.
From Kinnekswiss, you can easily walk to the “Lëtzebuerger Chrëschtmaart” at Place d’Armes. During the Winterlights season, this centrally located square is turned into a beautiful winter wonderland. The carousel “Le Chahut des 4 éléments” and the little train “Wanterzuch” will surely put a smile on your kids’ faces as Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer leads the way. Numerous concerts will be held on Place d’Armes as part of the Winterlights programme. Don't forget to check the detailed programme at the end of this article.
The “Wantermaart” at Place de la Constitution is just a short walk away from Place d’Armes. Like every year, a big Ferris wheel, trampolines, food and drink stalls, as well as numerous Christmas trees can be found at the “Wantermaart”. You’ll also have the chance to try the famous Kurtos, among many other delicious delicacies. The perfect spot to enjoy festive moments with friends and families and to take group pictures! You can also take part in a candle-making workshop ("Käerzenatelier"). Please note that the workshop is reserved for school classes from 23 November to 21 December until 4 pm.
If you cross the famous Adolphe Bridge, either by tram, bus or on foot, you will reach yet another Christmas market: the "Niklosmaart" on the Place de Paris.
This is where Santa’s house is located and where he meets the children. The perfect backdrop for family portraits! You can also cross the street and take a ride in the flying chairs. Family fun guaranteed! Food and drinks are also available at Place de Paris.
