Unlike most historic buildings and houses in Luxembourg, Philharmonie stands out for its impressive and imposing modern architecture at the entrance to the Kirchberg district, one of the most important neighborhoods for Luxembourg’s economy.

Philharmonie was opened in June 2005, 10 years after Luxembourg was elected the European Capital of Culture. The building is a work of art and the facade looks amazing in photos, especially the “Luxembourg” sign right in front. It is one of the most visited spots in the capital.

There are more than 400 performances per year and the main hall has 1500 seats, in addition to the other rooms. You can follow everything through the website, which is very thorough. The shows have more affordable prices for people up to 27 years old through the Phil27 app where you can register and pay only 10 euros. You can also purchase tickets for guided tours directly on the website. Luxembourg greatly encourages people to appreciate culture and art.

And one great tip: when visiting Philharmonie, be sure to go behind it and visit the MUDAM (Museum of Contemporary Art in Luxembourg) and the Fort Thungen in Parc Drai. There you can enjoy the beautiful view of the capital and the Valley! The sunset is special there, for me, it’s the most beautiful in Luxembourg)!
