When a musical legacy lives on through movies… That’s what happened with Richard Strauss’s Also sprach Zarathustra and György Ligeti’s Atmosphères.! Both works became iconic thanks to Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.. The Bayerisches Staatsorchester brings them to you in a true symphonic odyssey, also stopping off at L’île des morts with Sergei Rachmaninov, before Beatrice Rana comes on board to play Maurice Ravel’s Piano concerto in G Major.
