Who were the most importantcollectors, agents and dealers in countrieslike France, Germany, and the Netherlands. Which paintings were fashionable, and why? What kind of shifts in taste can be discerned? These are some of the questions that come up when we considerthe intriguing world of the art market in early modern Europe.
