Connective Shibari
Connective Shibari: A Somatic Introduction
A 2-hour beginner workshop in presence, touch, and connection
This workshop offers a refined and accessible introduction to Shibari, designed for those already attuned to body-based practices, and curious to explore connection through a new medium. Rather than focusing on technique or performance, we approach rope as a subtle and powerful tool for awareness: a way to deepen sensitivity to touch, breath, and relational dynamics. We begin by creating a grounded and consensual space, where communication, boundaries, and individual pacing are central. From there, you will be guided through a progression of somatic and relational exercises:
- exploring connection through movement, proximity, and touch
- developing awareness of tension, direction, and responsiveness
- experiencing rope first without knots, as an extension of the body
You will then learn a simple, elegant tie, approached not as a restraint, but as a container for connection, including gentle explorations of forward and reverse tension. The workshop closes with a short, guided exploration where you can integrate what you’ve felt, at your own rhythm. This is a slow and intentional space, where:
- sensation is prioritized over performance
- curiosity replaces “doing it right”
- moments of stillness are as valuable as movement
You will be invited to listen deeply, to yourself and to your partner.
.This workshop is especially suited for:
- individuals familiar with somatic or mindful practices
- couples of friends or lovers wishing to explore new layers of connection and communication
- anyone curious about Shibari in a refined, grounded, and non-intimidating environment
No prior experience is needed, this is a partnered workshop
.Safety & consent:
A strong foundation in consent, communication, and physical awareness is woven throughout the workshop. We cover essential safety principles while maintaining a calm, non-alarmist, non dogmatic approach, empowering you to explore with clarity and confidence.
A different entry into Shibari:
This is not about learning many techniques.
It is about cultivating presence, sensitivity, and connection.
Rope becomes a language, one that speaks through tension, breath, and attention.
