The architecture of a space capsule: between arts and engineering

The architecture of a space capsule: a connection between arts and engineering

Today we know Space Architecture as the practice and theory of designing and building inhabited environments in outer space. But what about the beginnings? We begin with a journey through the early 20th, not only in space architecture or architecture, but also in politics, sociology, arts, films, and the use of propaganda during the space race.

All these topics led to a continuous exchange of information and progress in space matter, in which films had a big input on the subject. This is how some famous schools of architecture of the time, such as the Bauhaus and the Vkhutemas, received students who began to lay the foundations of what would later be known as space architecture. In this way we will enter the world of the 19th and 20th century of arts and space and its connection with the architecture and design of the space capsules.
