Après avoir écouté son médecin au sujet d’un autre patient, George, un hypocondriaque, est convaincu que c’est lui qui est en phase terminale. Pensant qu’il va bientôt mourir, George demande à son ami Arnold de l’aider à trouver un nouveau mari pour Judy, son épouse. Mais le comportement étrange de George amène Judy à soupçonner qu’il cache une liaison avec une autre femme…
