CinEast Opening Event - Fanfare Ciocârlia & Balkan DJ party

The 2025 edition of CinEast will launch with an electrifying live performance by one of the most iconic Balkan bands! 

A decade after their last show in Luxembourg, they are finally coming back! 

Fanfare Ciocârlia is a 10-piece Romani brass band from the small village of Zece Prăjini in northeastern Romania. Blending traditional Balkan folk with elements of jazz, pop, and even rock, they have created a genre-defying sound that has taken them across the globe. 

They have toured in over 70 countries, clocking up thousands of shows - including some of Europe’s top festivals such as Sziget (Hungary), Electric Castle (Romania) and Terres du Son (France), as well as high-profile events such as the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. The band is widely regarded as one of the best live brass ensembles in the world, known for their high-speed Balkan rhythms, punchy horn blasts, breakneck trumpet riffs, growling tubas, nimble clarinet solos and infectious stage presence full of unstoppable energy. Their tunes have featured in films (including Borat Subsequent Moviefilm), documentaries and TV ads, and they have collaborated with a wide range of artists — from gypsy punk bands to classical orchestras. In 2021, they celebrated 25 years on the road with the album It Wasn’t Hard to Love You, a lively reminder of their unique sound and enduring appeal. 

Having earned a global reputation for their electrifying shows, Fanfare Ciocârlia will now bring their explosive Balkan brass party to Luxembourg’s Melusina. 

Get ready for an extraordinary night of dancing frenzy and joyful Balkan brass magic! 

After the performance, the night will continue with a very special DJ set. 

Throughout the event, a variety of authentic Eastern European dishes will be available to boost your energy levels.
