The charming and unapologetically funny one-woman show Lovefool is an honest depiction of the shameful, awkward, and painful events in our lives.
Grace is a young woman hungry for affection, but looking for love in all the wrong places. That is, until she is forced to discover what healthy (self) love might look like. Performed by Kristin Winters, the brutally vulnerable and hilarious show navigates the impossibly confusing dynamics of modern love. Lovefool does not shy away from the difficult topics it covers – whether it’s toxic masculinity and emotional abuse, recovery from addiction, or facing childhood trauma. It hopes to touch audiences at their core, helping them see that they are neither alone in, nor defined by their experiences. This terribly honest piece asks the audience to consider what life might be like if led with self-awareness respect, and purpose.
Gintare Parulyte, author, theatre director and filmmaker from Luxembourg, comments: Let’s be honest: times are fucked up. So in this play, I cut straight to the core of what has been aching us in these hyper-intense times: trauma, addiction, co-dependence, and everything that can prevent us from receiving and giving love.
Performed last season to sold-out audiences and after a successful tour all over Europe (Coronet Theatre London, ConTempo Festival Kaunas and Edinburgh Fringe Festival) Lovefool is back to Luxembourg!
Fifty-five minutes of riveting monologue that takes spectators through a load of emotions, Lovefool is possibly the best theatre play I’ve seen this season. Luxembourg Times
