Rosario La Tremendita
Rosario La Tremendita
Born in a flamenco house in the Triana neighborhood of Seville, in addition to singing, she is a composer, producer, lyricist, and multi-instrumentalist, accompanying herself on guitar, electric bass, and percussion. From the beginning, she has strived to study the tradition, always with respect, but with an irrepressible eagerness to research and renew, absorbing current influences without losing its essence, flamenco.
A Tiempo (2010), was her first album and a great challenge, her second work, Fatum (2012), gets her first nomination for the Latin Grammy Awards for Best Flamenco Album. Qasida (2015) becomes her third work, a live concert with Iranian singer Mohamed Motamedi, where he creates a sound space and a dialogue between the two cultures. He obtains her second nomination to the Latin Grammy Awards for Best Flamenco Album with her fourth album, Delirium Temens (2018), a project where he takes a step further in her research restlessness exposing traditional flamenco singing to new environments, both sonorous and harmonic, approaching jazz and electronics.
With Tremenda (2021) she makes a revision and investigation of cante jondo, a creative proposal that leads to a heterogeneous musical space, free of stylistic ties and rules, where tradition is narrowed from the impurity, to provide it with sonorities, ‘a priori’ very far from traditional flamenco.
