About the event

LOA 2020 has been POSTPONED due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In order to guarantee the health and safety of the visitors, artists and staff at the LOA Festival we have therefore decided to postpone the LOA Festival to the 24th and 25th April 2021.

Following the success of the first edition in September 2019, the second edition of the Luxembourg Open Air (short: “LOA”) Festival will be held on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September 2020 at Place de l’Europe, Kirchberg. Over the course of two days 12 renowned international DJs and 25+ local artists will perform a mix between EDM music, Deep House, and Tech House. This year’s festival line-up will be released in two phases, with each phase containing 6 headliners, 3 of which are performing on Saturday and 3 of which on Sunday. The first phase headliners for LOA 2020 are: Quintino, Michael Calfan, Justin Mylo, Danko, Smack and Iceleak. The festival continues to put a strong emphasis on sustainability, mobility and innovation and continues to reinvent the Luxembourgish festival landscape.

Sustainability: there will be no single-use plastic at LOA whatsoever. This includes the bar areas which will use only reusable cups as well as the food village and food trucks which need to comply to the strict no-single use policy regulations for cutlery. Mobility: In cooperation with the festival partner LuxTram the tram schedule has been extended to festival opening hours to guarantee safe travels to and from the festival for all visitors.

The LOA organization highly encourages the use of free public transport to access the festival site. Innovation: LOA 2020 will have a cashless payment system to make the visitor experience as pleasant as possible. This includes cashless terminals at all points of sale which has a substantial positive impact on the general festival logistics and customer experience. LOA Festival will feature two different stages, the “Main Stage” and the “LOA Local Stage”, with the latter particularly geared towards promoting local talent and providing local DJs a platform next to international headliners.

The festival venue will include multiple different areas and amenities such as a Chill Out Area, a Food Village with food trucks, a Family & Fun Area, a wide range of dedicated bars and various types of animation for all age groups. Being under the high patronage of the Ministry of Culture LOA 2020 puts a strong focus on the entire cultural umbrella. In cooperation with MUDAM this year’s edition will feature a weekend workshop on the festival venue as well as adapted guided tours in the museum itself for the LOA visitors. In cooperation with ‘Visit Luxembourg’ and different hotels in proximity to the venue, visitors will have the option of booking discounted accommodation options via the festival website Main festival partner for LOA 2020 is Meliá Kirchberg for which visitors have the option to purchase a ticket & accommodation package. Further LOA partners which offer festival discounts are Novotel, Novotel Suites and Mama Shelter.

Luxembourg Open Air is actively looking to expand its crew on both festival-days with motivated and hard-working team members. LOA volunteers will have a wide range of missions and responsibilities and will receive various rewards including free day and weekend tickets. If people want to be part of the LOA team, they are highly encouraged to register as volunteers on the LOA Festival website. LOA Festival 2020 is dedicated to providing a full musical experience to all age groups.

The festival will therefore be free for children and adolescents under 16 (accompanied by an adult) as well as adults 60+. Early bird tickets and further information can be found at

In addition, the social media accounts @LuxembourgOpenAir on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram will provide continuous updates over the coming months.
